Nestled in the heart of the Himmarshee Village, Bull Market is a unique concept in dining and entertainment that has taken Fort Lauderdale by storm. The brain child of Ian Rose and John Todora, Bull Market was the first concept developed by the duo when they first created The Creative Kitchen Hospitality Group. Illuminated all around Bull Market, a gastropub in downtown Fort Lauderdale, are flat screens with an imitation news-channel logo, the places emblem, and tickers highlighting rising and dropping prices on beer and spirits. It is based on supply and demand: The more a product is being sold, the more you pay. When demand decreases, so does the cost. The goal is to offer guests a chance to sample craft beer and cocktails and prices that dont hit you over the head, says John Todora, director of operations for the Creative Kitchen Group, owners of Bull Market and Chow Sushi BBQ. A lot of people are intimidated to try something new, says Todora. Not everyone is going to shell out seven or eight bucks for a beer or drink theyre uncertain about. This Wall Street theme doesnt stop with the tickers. Its symbolized by the bars rendition of artist Arturo Di Mocas charging bull, which sits not far from the New York Stock Exchange. Di Moca created the oversized sculpture of the beast after the 1987 stock market crash. It was dropped off in the middle of the night, impounded, then moved to its current home in Bowling Green Park, two blocks from the exchange. Bull Market was named by Zaagat as one of the best new restaurants in 2014 and was honored by winning the award for Best New Bar in 2015 and is the only restaurant in South Florida to ever win Best Happy Hour, Best Burger and Best Brunch in the same year in the prestigious New Times yearly awards
