QUESTION #1:
Hi Pre-Dating,
I only tend to date African American Christian men, do you have events for this specific or a group? If not, can you point me in the right direction?
Answer from Pre-Dating
Dear "Wonderfully Specific",
Let me first point out that I think it is great that you know exactly what you are looking for- many of us have no idea, which is why dating can be such a hassle. We weed through the "Dating Jungle" per se, looking for something that maybe we don't even want. So, kudo's to you for honing in on a target!
That said, Pre-Dating does hold speed dating events for all sorts of different niche markets. We have been building targeted databases so when we do in fact find interest in a particular niche, we know we can successfully hold said event. However, all markets are different- the best person to speak to would be your local event coordinator. They would be able to look and see if a certain event would be able to "take off" in your city.
Other than our events, we would also recommend checking out some local meetup groups. If there is not a meetup group set up for the specific niche you are looking for, you yourself can start one up and start hosting "nights out" or even, may I dare say, a "Karaoke Night".
You can also look at different online dating companies as there are many out there that focus on niche markets, however, studies have shown that religious based dating sites have a higher number of "scammers" due to the idea that people on these sites are more giving. I am not implying that all people on the site are like this, however, those do tend to be the ones targeted.
In closing- reach out to your local rep and see what they have to say about thier local events and wether or not this kind of event would be fitting in your city. If not- it doesn't hurt to try an "All Single Professionals" event as we tend to get a good mix of different people.
QUESTION #2:
Dear Pre-Dating,
My mother is in her later 50's and I want to get her to go to a speed dating event, as my father passed 10 years ago. I feel that she needs to meet a good companion- shes probably not looking to get married, but a good companion to keep her company and enjoy her life with.
Answer from Pre-Dating
Dear "Caring Child":
We hear all the time about how people in their 50's are ready to start dating again, whether that be after divorce, or after a loved one has passed. Good thing you found us, as most of our event coordinators host events for people in their 50's throughout the US and Canada!
One of the beautiful things about going to a singles event, is everyone is there for different things, some are there to meet the "Love of their life", while others are there to meet "Someone special". No matter the reason, singles events offer people the space, and ability to socialize unlike anywhere else.
As far as your mother, I think it would be a great stepping stone for her to try one of our events. Even if she does not meet someone there that she likes, it gets her "back in the game". Who knows, maybe she will find someone special. I have a "Featured Testimonial" segment with her name on it!

Roy's Relationship Corner
In my new book, Attracting Lasting Love: Breaking Free of the 7 Barriers that Keep You Single, I go into great detail on masculine/feminine dynamics because misunderstanding these energies is one of the major barriers to attracting lasting love.

In this month's newsletter, I want to share an excerpt from my book where I describe the six facets of the divine Feminine. Space will only allow me to describe one of the six, but make no mistake about it, these qualities make a woman radiant and irresistible to the masculine. Here's how I describe it in the book:
An excerpt from Attracting Lasting Love:
"Of a diamond's "4C's"—Carat, Cut, Color and Clarity—it's the diamond's Cut that makes it sparkle and determines its overall beauty. Similarly, there are 6 facets of the divine Feminine, and they too, make a woman sparkle. When a woman is "cut" in these 6 ways, she becomes an irresistibly radiant woman. Let's take a look at them one at a time.
Facet #1: She Expresses her Life Force—Playfully
When relationship experts teach on topics like attraction, dating and intimacy, we can make it sound pretty complicated. You might get the impression that you need to be a relationship rocket scientist in order to get a damn date! Now, while I do believe the best treasure is found in the deepest water, when it's all said and done, attracting lasting love may be as simple as this:
How much fun are you to be around?
No matter how conventionally beautiful a woman is, how long will anyone date "Debbie Downer?" We all want someone to love us, but it's more important that someone like us.
So, how fun are you to be around? Are you a playful woman who's light-hearted, able to flirt, tease, laugh and have a good time, especially at your own expense? Or are you a serious, somber sour-puss and a drag to be around? As Ferris Bueller said of his friend: "Cameron is so tight that if you stuck a lump of coal up his ass, in two weeks you'd have a diamond." Do you have a "Cameron" persona? Are you boring, tight and serious? Let me ask it this way: Would you want to date you?
The Feminine is radiant life force and when that flows freely through the Feminine form, it shines—playfully. Of course, the Feminine can be tenderhearted or even serious when appropriate, but normally she's playful, happy to be alive and fun to be around. This doesn't mean that every woman is supposed to be an extroverted "Chatty-Cathy" type…
My clients often complain that their friends are "guy magnets" and they aren't. It's almost always because their friend is way more fun than they are. So, how playful are you? How much fun are you to be around? This is the first facet of the divine Feminine. Radiant women are playful women."
