with a new trend that's sprouting up all over the country, called PreDating

was developed as an alternative to the much over-rated typical nightclub
scene for singles looking for a more upscale, structured, and fun way
to meet other quality singles.
PreDating events are held in several South Florida cities and will soon sprout up in six others across the United States. PreDating means participants get a chance to briefly meet and talk to each other before going on an actual date - and all without shouting over music or the necessity of asking each other to dance. Singles sit down and talk one-on-one in five-minute intervals. After the five minutes, they circle "yes" or "no"' next to the other's ID number on a card. If both circle "yes," they receive each other's e-mail addresses the following day. Every five minutes, a bell rings and everyone switches partners to start the process again. There's about thirty seconds in-between where they can decide, and take a couple of notes.
"When you go to a nightclub or even a party, you're waiting to be talked to, or searching for someone to talk with, but with our events you don't have that issue. You don't have the stress and potential embarrassment of being rejected on the spot, the process just flows," the company said.
The PreDating formula also boasts a higher success rate, as all the singles there are looking to be matched up. "Half the people in bars or at parties aren't even looking to meet someone special, so that makes the process all the more frustrating," added the company. "But with PreDating, people are interested in finding someone they enjoy being with and who is equally as fed up with the traditional dating scene."
Men and women pay just $20 each to attend PreDating events that are held at trendy spots around the city. Events are organized by age with less than 10 years separation between participants. In addition to its regular monthly events, PreDating plans special interest events throughout the year, including events for single parents, "silver" singles, African American singles, and other groups.
